Legal requirements

Requirement for a Chemical safety report
In Article 14 of REACH, the requirements for a Chemical Safety Report, which leads to the generation of exposure scenario(s), are outlined. The chemical safety report must be completed for all substances subject to registration in quantities of 10 tonnes or more per year per registrant.

Downstream user duty to identify, apply and recommend risk reduction measures

In article 37 of REACH the requirements for the downstream user to identify and apply the measures in the exposure scenario is settled.

The downstream user is excluded from the requirements if the downstream user uses the substance or mixture in a total quantity of less than one tonne per year.

Be aware that distributors shall pass on information in the exposure scenarios to downstream users.
